the gardens at Barrington Court

We stopped at Barrington Court on the way to visit my parents last weekend. Here are a few photographs. It is laid out as a series of gardens with herbaceous borders, a walled vegetable garden, a rose garden and a white garden. All looked perfect, June is such a wonderful month for garden visiting.

Hello Willow!

Glorious photos. Both Mr VP and I loved visiting Barrington Court (summer 2009) and found the place very atmospheric and interesting. I also seem to recall coming back with oodles of plants from the NT shop and also a gorgeous bowl from Paul the Potter (http://paulthepotter.blogspot.co.uk/ ) (is he still there?). I'm glad you had a lovely time. June really is the month for visiting gardens, isn't it? :)

Best wishes,
Tash from vintagepretty.org

Hello Tash,
Yes, the potter is still there and a wonderful workshop with wooden bowls, chopping boards etc, a quilting shop with masses of fabrics and an art gallery.

Thanks for the link to Paul the Potter - what an inspiring blog, you can feel his real enthusiasm for his work as you read his posts.

Oh those gardens are just amazing! I would have loved to have toured them. June is the month for gardens. Mine will look the best this month of the whole year. Sad that time goes so quickly when you want it to slow down.
