Autumn

Autumn has taken me by surprise this year.

In mid September we went to Italy for a wedding and a few days holiday. On returning we all tested positive for covid and have stayed at home. I'm now recovered and am out walking again and in those couple of weeks since my last walk, summer has moved into autumn.

The bracken has turned brown and gold and funghi are appearing in the woods.

We are off to spend a few days in Scotland, I'm looking forward to noticing the seasonal changes as we travel north.

You're back! I always loved reading your posts so I am happy you came back :) Autumn took me by surprise this year too - we came back from our summer holidays mid September and it seemed autumn started that very day - lots and lots of rain and much lower temperatures. But now the calmer sunny autumn days have come and I took the girls to the forest a couple of times - we came back with pockets full of "treasure" (conkers, acorns, a few walnuts). My favourite season!
Have a good trip to Scotland!

Hello Hanneke
It is good to hear from you. I’m not sure whether I’m back or not, after all I’ve had a couple of false starts but it is good to be choosing photos again.
It is raining a lot here in Scotland and I can see a dusting of snow on the mountain tops. We are staying on the west coast and the autumn colours are stunning.
Glad all is well with you.
