Holiday photos

Our holiday in Switzerland was brilliant. The trains, all the way from our village to London, then Paris, through France and Switzerland arriving in the village we were staying in, all ran exactly to time making the journey a real pleasure. As I have mentioned the decision to go by rail rather than fly was based on reducing the impact of our journey but it was lovely to travel through the countryside instead of over it and we would definitely do it again.

Switzerland itself was as beautiful as we imagined it would be. I took almost 500 photos during the week because everywhere I looked there was a perfect picture! Here are a few of my favourites.

We stayed in the Lauterbrunnen valley near Interlaken and these photographs were all taken within a few miles of there. It really was a beautiful place.

BEAUTIFUL! Reminds me of the Sound of Music. I'm glad you had such a good trip and the train worked out so well. Thank you for sharing the pictures!

Stunning scenery willow. I think you must have a better connection with the changes in the landscape by travelling by rail too. A bit like taking the bus in London not the tube as you then appreciate all the little streets and areas in between and see how they all link up.

Now what i want to know is did you all stand on top of the mountain and sing, 'the hills are alive with the sound of music'?

Hi Ginny,
Yes, of course we did!! Just as well there weren't many other people about, we're not a very musical family!

Hi Willow,

A few year ago we camped in the main site in Lauterbrunnen, I thought I recognised the scenery.

Wonderful area, amazing scenery, we did drive though, but there were four of us in a small car and the countryside on the way was an education as to the local way of life and food.

Blessings
