Spring wild flowers

The first celandine of the year with its shiny petals bright against the dark green leaves. It is one of my favourite wild flowers because it is so bright and bold at this time of the year. Just the one flower but it is still a bit early for them.

I also spotted some very early primroses amongst the celandine leaves

and the snowdrops are still in flower. This year all the flowers seem to blooming at the same time.

How lovely to have found a celandine. I went walking last weekend in Surrey and there was no sign of them. Hopefully another week will have brought them on. Nice blog, I shall come back!

I was thinking about you today and wondering how you were -- I have been behind on reading blogs and hadn't realized you had posted. I can't believe how much spring you have already -- is it early for you to have that much "blooming?" We are still buried under snow and ice but today it was almost 50F so maybe it will melt soon.

It is early for celandines and there was only this one, not even a sign of any others in bud just this single flower.
